The office of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, proposed to simultaneously release the Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov, who was convicted in Russia, and the head of the RIA Novosti portal of Ukraine, Kirill Vyshinsky. This was reported on Facebook by Zelensky’s press secretary, Julia Mendel.

Earlier, Moscow offered Kiev to take the first step of goodwill and release Vyshinsky.
“We fully support the policy of goodwill steps and invite Russia to take a step towards meeting the release of Oleg Sentsov. And for mutual confidence … we suggest doing it at the same time, ”Mendel wrote.
Sentsov was sentenced by a Russian court to 20 years in prison for organizing terrorist acts in the Crimea. Vyshinsky is accused of state treason in Ukraine. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Kirill Vyshinsky was arrested for his direct professional activities.
