President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed hope that negotiations in the "Norman format" in Paris will take place in the near future, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the press service of the Ukrainian leader.

They said that the head of Ukraine, speaking at the ceremony of presenting credentials of ambassadors of a number of countries, including France, emphasized the role of this country in the Norman format and expressed the hope that a meeting at the level of heads of state parties in Paris will be held in the near future.
On September 11, German Chancellor Angela Merkel announced preparations for a “Norman format” summit in a few weeks. Prior to this, Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor discussed preparations for the summit during a telephone conversation. The Russian leader also touched on this topic during a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Earlier in Kiev, they said they were waiting for the participation of the United States and Britain in the "Norman format." However, Washington has not yet promised to actively participate in negotiations to resolve the situation in Ukraine.
