Moscow, July 10 – AIF-Moscow.
The United States has decided to introduce new sanctions against Iran, since the Iranian authorities will not change their policies without external pressure, reports Al Jazeera, referring to US Special Representative for Iran Brian Hook.
"Washington has created a stalemate." Will Iran get a nuclear bomb?
According to Hook, the US position on Iran sometimes does not coincide with the position of the European Union, but “no one supports Tehran’s expansionist policy.” Hook added that if the Gulf Cooperation Council shows cohesion, it will be an effective tool to counter Iran.
Earlier, Iran exceeded the enrichment level of uranium in a nuclear deal.
Recall that in May 2018, the United States unilaterally withdrew from the UHFD, after which Washington also imposed economic sanctions on Iran in the field of oil exports against Iran.
In May 2019, Iran announced that it would suspend certain obligations on a nuclear deal. In Tehran, they also stated that they are not satisfied with the steps of Europe in the transaction, and added that they give the participating countries 60 days to fulfill their requirements. After that, US President Donald Trump said that Tehran would not receive nuclear weapons.
