Moscow, September 10 – AIF-Moscow.

The Russian Embassy in Montenegro reported that they did not have data on the fate and further movements of Oleg Smolenkov, after his entry into this Balkan country, RIA Novosti writes.

Who is Oleg Smolenkov, who is called an American spy?

Earlier, CNN reported that in 2017, American intelligence agencies removed their informant from Russia, who allegedly worked inside the country's leadership. A number of media called Smolenkov "the US spy." According to journalists, he and his family went missing in 2017. This happened after his entry into Montenegro.

Spokesman for the Russian president Dmitry Peskov said that Smolenkov really worked in managing the affairs of the head of state. However, the position he held does not imply any contacts with Vladimir Putin, nor participation in meetings with the President of the Russian Federation.

The administration of the Russian leader reported that Smolenkov was dismissed from the structure several years ago.
