Moscow, September 10 – AIF-Moscow.
Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory telegram to President of Abkhazia Raul Khadzhimba on the occasion of his re-election to this post, the Kremlin’s press service said.
Wake up, Georgians!
“I hope that your activity in the presidency will continue to contribute to strengthening Russian-Abkhaz relations based on the principles of alliance and strategic partnership,” the text says.
The President of the Russian Federation also added that Russia will continue to promote friendly Abkhazia in solving the problems of socio-economic development and ensuring national security.
The second round of presidential elections in Abkhazia took place on September 8. The next day, the CEC announced the victory of the current leader, who ultimately gained 47.39% of the vote.
At the same time, the opposition demands calling for a repeat election, insisting that Khajimba needed to get not a simple, but an absolute majority of votes.
