Moscow, August 13 – AiF-Moscow.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro asked UN Secretary General Antoni Guterres to speak out against the aggression that the US is showing against the country.

Dead end of the revolution. Who and why is inviting the American army to Venezuela?

The corresponding letter was read out by the Speaker of the Constituent Assembly Diosdado Cabello during the meeting, the local VTV channel reports. The appeal is signed by the residents of the republic.

“We ask that the United Nations demand an end to the brutal aggression against Venezuela and use the existing mechanisms to protect the Venezuelan people,” the appeal said.

Recall, on August 5, US President Donald Trump signed a decree on blocking the assets of the Venezuelan authorities. According to the document, the Central Bank of the country and the oil state company PDVSA were included.

Prior to this, the United States expanded the sanctions list. The UN believes that the new package of sanctions will negatively affect Venezuelans.
