President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has ordered the local authorities to begin preparations for the upcoming presidential elections and parliamentary elections. This writes Tass.

The Belarusian leader noted that there are no party bodies in the country, in connection with which it is necessary to organize everything at a decent level by the forces of local and administrative bodies.
According to the president, the upcoming parliamentary elections this year and in the future – the presidential elections will be a kind of exam for the authorities. “Naturally, this is an exam, it is necessary to prepare for it. Look, maybe somewhere something needs to be cleaned up, raised, not only in agro-towns and regional centers – here we have more or less put things in order and created jobs, ”Lukashenka said.
According to the president, in areas where new leaders are heading, a stable environment, adding that the population supports the current government. Lukashenko also urged not to exert pressure on people, adhering to the tactics of dialogue.
In the near future, the authorities will determine the date of the parliamentary elections, tentatively in November of this year. According to the calendar on the CEC website, the election of deputies to the lower house of parliament should be held in the country no later than September 10, 2020, and the presidential election no later than August 30, 2020.
Earlier, Putin congratulated Lukashenko on Independence Day of Belarus.
