Yermoshina noted that the head of state offered to finalize the proposals, take into account the opinion of local authorities and start the election campaign from August 5.
It is noted that Belarus will invite international observers to the elections without any restrictions. “The head of state said that international observers will be invited to us without restrictions. However, no one will make any special efforts to increase their numbers indefinitely, ”said the CEC chairman.
President Alexander Lukashenko has previously called on local authorities to prepare for elections. According to the CEC website, the election of deputies to the lower house of parliament should be held in Belarus no later than September 10, 2020, and the presidential election no later than August 30, 2020.
