About 200 protesters returned to Hong Kong International Airport and renewed their protests there, according to the South China Morning Post.
What caused the riots in Hong Kong?
The day before, mass protests were already held at the airport, with more than a thousand people participating. Because of this, the administration of the air harbor canceled more than 300 flights and plans to change the flight schedule after the restoration of air service.
On Sunday, unauthorized anti-government demonstrations took place in different parts of the city. Protesters threw Molotov cocktails at the police; one law enforcement officer was hospitalized with burns.
Protests against amendments to the law on extradition to mainland China have not stopped since June. Gradually, they grew into actions demanding democratic reforms and maintaining autonomy from the PRC.
