In the village of Turgenevo in the Chernovsky district the traditional Bezhin Meadow festival has already become traditional.

Within the framework of the festival a monument to I.S. Turgenev, the press service of the government of the Tula region.

The Minister of Culture of the Tula region Tatyana Rybkina noted that this year the festival “Bezhin Meadow” was the culmination of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of IS. Turgenev in the Tula region in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation.

Tatyana Rybkina passed the greeting of the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky to the guests and participants of the festival. She also read out the welcome address of the Governor of the Tula region Alexei Dumin.

“The Bezhin Meadow Festival is a large-scale event for both the Tula region and the entire country. It unites representatives of different types of art: poetic, pictorial, musical and theatrical. Today we can get to know the writer more closely, see the landscapes that inspired him. I am sure that everyone who has ever visited here will want to come back here, “says the greeting of the head of the region.

All day long the festival was run by interactive venues and a summer cinema. All interested could visit the excursion in the museum of the writer, take part in master classes, take photos in special photo zones.

The main events of the festival were the showing of performances with the participation of both amateur and professional groups from the Tula region and Moscow, as well as the folklore festival “Zvonkogolosoye expanse”.

The holiday ended with a concert by People’s Artist of Russia Oleg Pogudin, a light show on the water and a festive fireworks display.

The festival was visited by more than 12 thousand people.

And in Orenburg there will be a monument to another Russian writer and poet – Gabriel Derzhavin.

July 27, a festive event dedicated to the 275th anniversary of Gavriil Romanovich Derzhavin and the completion of the All-Russian project “Derzhavin Readings” will take place in the village of Derzhavino in the Buzuluk district of the Orenburg region, the regional government portal reports.

The main event of the day will be the opening of a monument to the great poet and an outstanding statesman. The author is the famous Saratov sculptor Alexander Sadovsky. The height of the monument with the pedestal is about 2.8 meters.

Also on this day there will be a tour of the Temple of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God.

Scientific restoration of the unique monument of history and culture was conducted from 2015 within the framework of the project “Historical Memory” with the support of the Governor of Orenburg, Yuri Berg, State Duma deputy Viktor Zavarzin, regional Ministry of Culture, administration of Buzuluk district and philanthropists.

The oldest temple in the Orenburg region, built in 1796 by the Derzhavin family and preserved until our time, becomes a well-known pilgrimage and tourist attraction of Orenburg region.

In addition, guests will be presented a book by Yuri Dombrovsky Derzhavin or the collapse of the empire, issued for the anniversary of the poet Orenburg publishing house. G.P. Donkovtseva.

Guests from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Tambov, the Republic of Tatarstan and the Novgorod region were invited to the solemn event.
