Appeal of the Dahl School
“School Dahl” – a philosophical and esoteric spiritual association of people engaged in the study of life and death.
Sooner or later, each of us asks himself: what is “human” or who is a “man”? To this question, many will answer: “A man is a body + a soul”; others – “Body + soul + mind”; the third – “Body + soul + mind + character”. All right, but it’s not so simple. Difficulties begin when questions continue: “And what is the body? Soul? Mind? Character? “ And in the end, suddenly you begin to understand that by and large we do not know what a person is. All knowledge, drawn from the field of medicine, philosophy, theosophy, logic, psychology, certainly gives an idea of a person, but not quite specific, rather in general terms. And when you try to understand yourself, none of the above sciences is able to help find an exhaustive answer to the questions: “Who am I?”, “Why am I living,” “What is the meaning of life, not in general, but my personal concrete meaning,” “What causes my dissatisfaction, failures, losses, loneliness”, eventually “What is death?” Questions can be asked endlessly. And the answers? Relying on sources (books of wise philosophers, textbooks of general and practical psychology), one can collect on crumbs an integral knowledge of the essence of man and his life on Earth.
But all the same, no, no, but a person has a question: due to what all this complex mechanism comes into action. It works well for many years and often fails, then grows old, and finally stops working? Reflections on this subject leave a person with unsatisfied knowledge that modern science offers him.
The concept of the teaching of our school: “Life does not end with death”. If the physical body is considered the limit of life on Earth, and it is subject to destruction, then it is appropriate to talk about death. But if you know that man is not only a biological being, but also an energy being endowed with the Soul, and a center of life is a consciousness capable of evolving, then in this case the concept of “death” can be applied only to the physical body, and the Soul is immortal.
Eastern religions speak of the immortality of the Soul and the fact that the Soul repeatedly returns to Earth. Our school uses such a concept as incarnation. On Earth, a person goes on a kind of business trip, which is part of the basic life that takes place in the worlds of Extraterrestrial Civilizations: Sirius, Dessa, Orion, Daya – the material worlds of the homeland of all Humanity.
Planet Earth – this is a kind of school for the Soul, which, when arriving on Earth, gets into the terrestrial physical body in order to purify itself of the negative energy that it accumulated in the basic life and gain the quality for further evolution. Cleansing and personal growth go through the prism of trials, losses, pain and suffering. But a person who thinks, seeks, works on expanding his consciousness, becomes accessible to understanding information that allows us to ease suffering and avoid unnecessary pain.
With this book, we continue the series of books under the general title “World Spiritual Academy”. Why this name?
The world in which we live is not only the Earth. Our universe is boundless and populated by sentient beings. The knowledge that we offer to you, consider not only earthly existence, but also those aspects that are applicable to the entire universe.
We distribute this knowledge for the sole purpose – to help a person become better, to help him to become on the Path of Knowledge, the Path of Spiritual Improvement.
We believe that our world is a world of Light, not of Darkness. We believe in people, we believe that Good always defeats Evil. We believe that Love is the best feeling in the whole Universe.
We believe that the world can be made better. But you need to start with yourself. And it’s never too late to start. Do not wait for Monday, start right now. Take a look around. There are so many people around you who need your help. It needs your loved ones, your loved ones. Give them a piece of yourself and make them happy. And the gifted Good will come back to you many times.
Gifted joy is always a Gift to the Lord.
Whosoever the gift of joy is turned,
through this “someone” gift in transit will reach the Lord …
All people are interested in their future, not only foreseeable, but also distant. The further the person tries to look, the more worried he is. This concern is reinforced by the thought of death. The older the person, the more important the question of death is for him. After all, since the most ancient times of every person, the question is: “What will happen to me after death?” This idea simultaneously attracts and inspires a mystical fear, because there is, at first sight, no evidence that there is life after death.
On the other hand, it seemed to the person that death is always an injustice. After all, the world around us, in its essence, is harmonious, and what harmony in death? Is death really an end to everything? It does not fit into the head. The human mind rebels against this conclusion.
However, people always unconsciously understood that peace can not be so arranged, that death is the end of life. For our ancestors this understanding was natural. They lived in harmony with the world, nature, and this question did not even arise from them.
Several decades ago, the World Psychotherapeutic Association developed the scale of the greatest stresses in human life. On this scale, stress from losing a loved one ranks first. This suggests that with any problem a person can cope on his own, but leaving the life of close people is really a very strong stress, from which it is extremely difficult to recover. Why is this so?
The thing is that death for the vast majority of people is an irreversible separation, this is a problem that does not have permission. The concept itself “death” deprives a person of strength and hope. Materialistic and purely scientific worldviews sometimes do not allow a person to find solace in religion and spiritual teachings. Thus, a person remains alone with his grief.
Someone grief immobilizes, and someone starts to ask questions and think about the meaning of life, its significance, value. Here for those seeking and not giving up the soul of despair – our collection
Our task is to help remove the fear of death from people’s minds and tell them what lies beyond the earthly life. We all need to understand that there really is no death, and that there is no tragedy in death. There are only changes in the form of consciousness.
The coverage of this issue is necessary for people of many professions. This is necessary for a doctor who sometimes comes across daily what we call death. This is necessary for a priest who helps a person to go right and with a pure soul to another world. This is also necessary for psychologists and psychiatrists. In order to design appropriate and effective treatments for mental illness, they need to know what consciousness is and whether it can exist separately from the body. Since consciousness can exist separately from the body, the treatment of the disturbances of consciousness must not only take place with the help of medications.
Another goal of this collection is to help people who have lost loved ones to get out of the psychological crisis, to bring them back to normal life, to help rethink their own lives.
The collection addresses issues that are even more important than purely scientific and medical ones. What we learn about death depends on how we live. We can not fully understand this life if we can not understand what lies behind it.
Almost all religions teach that the Soul is immortal and that after the death of the body it passes to other levels of being and there continues to conscious existence. In this you can believe or not believe. Happy are those who can just believe, and who do not need any proof. Their life is lighter and better. But such a faith is not at all.
A modern man, even close to believing in God, has become accustomed to everything for looking for evidence. There is nothing wrong. One of the ways to faith leads through knowledge. Unbelief is never the result of knowledge. One who claims that knowledge destroys faith is mistaken.
Mankind is steadily moving towards new horizons of its development, with every step forward, it is increasingly conscious of and expanding the expanses of the One Universe.
Our country is also entering a new and bright period of its history. Now, after many years of anti-religious propaganda, in Russia there is a growing interest in spiritual knowledge and spiritual practices. We can say that the process of spiritual and simple moral revival has already begun and will only progress in the future.
Personality, our Consciousness, continues to live after the death of the body. Understanding this truth comes to our world. The sooner this knowledge becomes the property of all people, the better it will be for us and our descendants.
Death is not the end of the personality. The life of man on Earth is only a part of his life, only the beginning of the development of his Person and Consciousness. The experience gained by man on Earth gives a new impetus to man in his development as a Person. The direction followed by man on Earth continues in other worlds. And how this direction will be – light or dark, is determined by man himself in terrestrial life.
Since death is not the end, the meaning of life on Earth will be perceived by man in a different way. The way of life will begin to change. People will become more responsible, will pay more attention to themselves and others, and this will make our existence here purer and better.
Will anything change this understanding? Every big discovery changed the way people lived. The use of steam, electricity, atomic energy made life more convenient and comfortable. These were major discoveries in the material sphere, and now a new and great discovery has been made in the sphere of spiritual life.
Death is the most important event in our life, but not because the body dies, but because the whole future of our immortal soul depends on what our consciousness will be at the moment of transition, because beyond the coffin a new life does not begin, but the old one continues.
We need to understand two truths: our consciousness does not stop with physical death, and our life on Earth, our relationships with other people is much more important than we thought.
Our last exam can be very difficult, but can be just as easy. Death must be met in such a way that dying is worthy and not very difficult.
Many of those who got to know more closely about life after life came to faith in God and changed their way of life, became serious. Some have changed their profession, some went to work in hospitals or nursing homes to help those who need help. The contact with what lies behind the last line almost always changes the character of people for the better.
Death is not at all what we most often imagine. Knowing what is happening to us at this moment, we will be less afraid and less suffering. The testimonies of people who survived a clinical death, allow us to look beyond the earthly life and learn a little more than we have known so far.
For modern people, these discoveries are so unexpected that it takes time, perhaps several generations, to understand and assimilate them. In place of materialism and atheism, a light understanding of the World in its Oneness will soon come. We will try to understand step by step such an important issue for all.
We may be objected: “He who does not die has no right to speak of death. Since no one has returned because of the devil, we can not reliably know what is happening there. ” There is a simple answer to this. First, each of us returned to this world many times. Few favorites remember their previous incarnations. Remember to tell that death in the form that it is known – not at all. Secondly, if we do not like something, it does not mean that this is a closed topic for discussion.
We hope that this book will help people who have forgotten about their immortality, who have forgotten the ancient wisdom about the meaning of human life, to realize the real unity and immortality of our consciousness and our personality. We believe that any light that can be shed on this secret will be for the benefit of all mankind. It is very important that a person has an idea of how the transition to another world is taking place.
Perhaps, much of what is written here seems immoral and even cynical. We are ready for this. Our only justification is that this knowledge will come in handy sooner or later. Even if a person for some reason can not accept them now, at the moment of his transition he will necessarily remember them. Will remember, and will act correctly. And for us it will be the highest recognition.
From the compilers
The materials of other authors are widely presented in our collection. These are the works of Arthur Ford, Raymond Moody, Peter Kalinovsky, Mikhail Sabom and others. All of them are modern researchers who from a scientific point of view approached the study of questions of life after life. Thanks to them, modern humanity was able to take a fresh look at the very phenomenon of life after life.
We express our sincere gratitude to them. Without their titanic efforts, we could hardly have attracted such a wide audience to this topic.
The list of authors and their works can be found in the list of literature.
Wherever possible, we will avoid the word “death” and replace it with other words, for example “withdrawal.”
Our collection is compiled in such a way that reading can begin with any chapter, depending on how interesting the reader is to those or other questions, and also how much he is aware of this topic.
Readers who first encounter this phenomenon, as well as readers who like to thoroughly understand everything, we recommend reading the collection from the very beginning. Then, step by step, a complete and clear picture of life after life will form in the person’s mind.
The final chapter of our book is in some way exclusive. The information that is contained in it has not previously been published. We tried to present them as much as possible to understand.
We fully admit that some of this information will be taken very critically. Once again, we are ready for this. Our only justification is that this knowledge will sooner or later serve everyone well.
Chapter 1. A serious conversation about death
§ 1. Why do not we like to talk and think about death?
Most modern people know very little about death, about how dying is going on, and what will happen after it. What does death mean? What does it mean to die? Is it necessary to prepare for death and how? This topic affects the deepest feelings of people. And at the same time, this topic is the most difficult for conversation. If you try to talk about it with any of your friends, then, most likely, you will hear: “I do not want to talk about it“. Or they may ask: “And what to think about and what to prepare for? It does not depend on us. Our time will come – we will die and that’s it. There is nothing to think about “. Many people do that.
For people who have never seriously thought about death in their whole life, its coming is the end of the earthly life, the end of the existence of the individual. And this is not so. The body dies, but some part of the person continues to exist, retaining the ability to see, hear, think and feel.
Man, oddly enough, thinks about anything, and he has neither desire nor time to think about death. Many people have only some vague ideas about life in another world. This can be explained by the way we live-or, as it sometimes seems, we have to lead.
Most modern people, as long as they are healthy and prosperous, do not think about death. They are always busy, the day is painted by the minute. We need to think about the future, achieve something, achieve something, finish something. Daily fuss, work, family troubles leave us little time and energy for any thought about the meaning of our life. The person on weekdays pays little attention to these questions. He is busy with other things and is engrossed in other concerns.
In fact, if the death of man ends, then why plan, work, try to create something new? For the sake of what to acquire new knowledge, to cultivate new qualities, why think about the future at all? While there is still time, you need to take from life all that it can give – you need to eat, drink, “love,” achieve power and honor. Do not think about something difficult and unpleasant and, of course, do not allow the thought of death. So many people do.
This may seem strange, since death is the most important event in the entire human life on earth. With 100% probability, it will happen to each of us. There is nothing more definite and more final for man. Each of us will have to cross this line. This is clear to everyone, and yet during our lives, almost all of us do not think about death or just try not to think.
Why does not a person want to think and talk about death? The thought of death is difficult and unpleasant. The topic itself and its discussion put us before the fact-the prospect of our own death, makes it more real. Discussing this topic, a person comes to the inevitable conclusion that he himself is mortal. This conclusion frightens him, and any normal person triggers a kind of protection – not to discuss this topic in order to protect himself from unnecessary worries. This conclusion supersedes the knowledge that once a person himself will have to die. This can be compared with the policy of the ostrich, when the head in the sand allows you to entertain yourself with the illusion that what you do not see does not exist at all.
In any case, for all of us there remains the problem of meeting with our own death. In his life a person quite often encounters phenomena that make him think about the impermanence of earthly existence. These are accidents, seizures of dangerous diseases, etc. After experiencing another trouble, a person, as a rule, quickly forgets everything.
Leo Tolstoy once said about this: “Only those who never seriously thought about death do not believe in the immortality of the soul.”
Our thinking is very lazy, although we often think the opposite. There is a good book – “The Art of Thinking”, written A. Dimne. The author believes that only one person out of ten is capable of abstract thinking. Most people live day by day with everyday worries – how to be full, how to feed a family and the like. They also think about entertainment and, if there is free time, think about how to kill it. Some people do not have time to think, others are afraid to think. And so people live until the time when death comes and it will be too late to think.
Thinking about the end of our earthly existence, we often think not about the death of the body, but about death in general, about something terrible and incomprehensible. This is a mistake of thinking and it frightens. There comes a desire to hide: “It is better not to think about it at all”. As a result, we know about death very little, while the most terrible thing in it is the unknown – “And what will happen to me?”.
Our entire social life is built in such a way that death can not be seen. For example, one of the relatives fell seriously ill. He used to be treated at home. The doctor came and prescribed treatment. Now a little bit, just to the hospital.
When a person dies, with him usually a nurse or nurse, rarely a doctor, but not relatives. When a person has died, his body does not lie in the house, his family does not see him, they do not remain and do not forgive him. Then – a short church service, and often without it, a few words of praise, a funeral march and a quick funeral or cremation.
Our modern civilization is aimed at denying death. For many, now is the meaning of life in pursuit of pleasure. And this does not fit with death at all. As a result, we do not see death and are getting used to not thinking about it, and not only about our own death, but about death in general.
Christian teachers say this very clearly. St. John Damascene taught :
"The thought of death is more important than all other deeds. It gives rise to the purity of the inexhaustible. Memory of the mortal motivates those who live to work, to patiently accept grief, to abandon cares and to prayers".
Still there is a wise life advice for all time:
“Every day you need to live as if it were the last day of your life.”
§ 2. Why are we afraid of death?
Almost all of us are afraid to some degree of death. How will this happen? Will we suffer? Will it hurt? It is now time to answer this question definitely.
Every person has a fear of death. This is nothing more than an animal’s reluctance to part with the familiar bodily house. Attachment to one’s body is born of itself. The instinct of self-preservation inherent in nature works. Fear of death is the desire of life and helps to preserve it. This is an inevitable feeling, and we all have to experience it.
Not only people are afraid of death, but all life. Fear of death is a natural feeling necessary in the life of nature. Animals, birds, fish, insects primarily try to save their lives. A bird that has lived in a cage for a long time hesitates before leaving its familiar house when the door is opened before it.
Fear of death is common for all ages and generations. But most of our fears come mostly from ignorance. And the most powerful remedy for ignorance is knowledge. After all, everything that we could understand and explain, becomes less terrible. People mystically feared thunder and lightning only until they learned their reasons.
All of us, to some extent, are afraid of death. Usually, we do not analyze, we do not try to understand, but we are simply afraid. It terrifies the unknown, threatening and inevitable.
Sudden death, illness, old age are all consequences of the fact that a person almost identified his consciousness with a fragile and perishable physical body and does not realize himself without it. His body all the time needs air, food and sleep, in order to somehow exist. And when a person’s life comes to an end, the fear of death completely captures him. He convulsively clings to his feeble body, thinking that he disappears forever.
Fear does not attract – he repels. For too long, for centuries, people have been called to order by means of threats of punishment by hell. Horizons of joy, freedom, boundless universe beyond the earthly life were closed to the eye. Fear of hell is one of the reasons for disbelief in the continuation of our lives. Who will want to believe in life after death, if this is something unpleasant? Can people who are constantly subjected to such trials, look forward, into a future life differently, as with a shudder?
We are afraid of death, maybe stronger than she deserves. Trying not to think about death, we fear it more than we could.
Many are most afraid of the unknown, and what will happen to us? I’m frightened by the feeling that something unknown will happen to me, independent of my desire, and I can not do anything.
As a rule, a person sees in the death of an enemy who wants to take his life. He can not fight with him and tries not to see, close his eyes, hide. But death, because they do not think about it, will not disappear and the fear of death will not disappear, but it will go deeper into the subconscious. Without awareness, it will be more dangerous and harmful.
One of the Orthodox hierarchs wrote :
"It would be strange, if at this time there was no fear of an unknown future, there would be no fear of God. The fear of God will be, he is good and necessary. It helps purify the soul, preparing to get out of the body".
But the fear of God is not a panic fear of death, and in our prayers we ask God to grant us a peaceful and unsophisticated demise.
Closing his eyes and not thinking, get rid of the fear of death will not succeed. Death is not only natural, but inevitable. However, remembering and thinking about death does not mean to be afraid of it. The memory of death is necessary for a full and worthy human existence. Even in ancient Rome, they taught – “Memento mori” (“Memento Mori”).
What to do? Is it possible to weaken this fear somehow or at least explain it? First of all, what scares us the most? What are we really so afraid of? Maybe physical suffering associated with dying? In the last stage of life there can be a lot of bodily suffering, but it is inherent in the disease, and not in death. Dying itself is painless and generally imperceptible. Even more, if there were pain, then when they die they disappear. All the symptoms of the disease disappear, and the person’s personality, crossing the earth’s threshold, continues to live in new conditions of existence.
Perhaps, the idea of non-existence frightens: “I will no longer be?” Now we know that when a person passes to another world, consciousness is often not lost, and if lost, it is only for a moment. The deceased continues to feel and think as before, without interruption. It is said that, when freed from the physical shell, a person gains immortality. But in fact, he was always immortal.
Christianity teaches that the fear of death is natural and necessary. We live on Earth not only to enjoy. Of course, the Lord wants people to rejoice in life, and give them everything necessary for this. But He also gave each of us a definite life task in accordance with our strengths and abilities. During the life on Earth, we must do something that enters into God’s Plan. The parable of Jesus Christ about talents, where the master at the end of centuries asks slaves, how they used the time and talents given to them (and money and abilities) also speaks about this (Matthew 25, 14 – 30). Life is given to us in order to do something useful and useful, and it must be stored.
Christian philosophers who thought about the fear of death teach that here it is necessary to distinguish two unequal states, and give them different names. Hegumen of the Sinai Mountain writes about this in “Ladder” :
"Fear of death is a characteristic of human nature … and the trembling from the memory of mortal is a sign of impenitent sins … The Christ of death fears, but does not tremble to clearly show the property of two natures".
Archimandrite Seraphim Rose in 1980 he published a book in English “Soul after death”. He writes that the testimonies of people who survived the temporary death of the body often draw an incorrect and dangerous picture. There is too much light in it. It seems that you do not need to fear death. Death is, rather, a pleasant experience, and after death, nothing bad does not threaten the soul. God does not blame anyone and surrounds everyone with love. Repentance and even thoughts about it are superfluous.
Father Seraphim writes:
“Today’s world is spoiled and does not want to hear about the reality of the spirit and responsibility for sins. It is much more pleasant to think that God is not very strict and that we are safe under a loving God who will not demand an answer. It is better to feel that salvation is secured. In this age we are waiting for a pleasant one and often see what we are waiting for. However, the reality is different. The hour of death is the time of diabolical temptation. The fate of a person in eternity depends mainly on how she looks at her own death and how she prepares for her. ”
This can lead to the thought that, while we are on Earth, we can enjoy life and not think about the consequences. A reasonable person will understand that this is not so.
What can be death for a person in whom the idea that after death he completely disappears? Such death is either a feeling of horror, or a feeling of dull despair. Such people often want to die immediately, suddenly. Often there is such a wish: “If I die, then I would like to die immediately or in a dream, so as not to suffer”.
This can only be wanted by those who know nothing about death and are afraid of it panicky. In this desire – a big mistake. There is no physical torment in death, but fear and difficult perceptions will remain, because in death, consciousness is not lost and the Personality does not disappear. Even if a person dies while sleeping, without feeling anything, he suddenly sees himself in a strange situation, but with all the thoughts and sensations that he wanted to avoid. In addition, with this understanding of death and if you do not want to feel anything, these people, full of fear, lose the whole period of soul growth. What is the period of growth you will learn in Chapter 6.
Completely get rid of the fear of death we never can
