The apartment has an area of 60 square meters. meters of its owner received in the program “resettlement of residents of dilapidated houses.” The project was created by Andrei Sviridov and the young architects of the “Scheme” studio.
On the topic: INT2architecture: a big project with a modest budget
“The problems with which we had to work: the lack of natural light and the spontaneous form of rooms,” the architects say. – We were required to create a simple and inexpensive interior, the walls of which are able to inspire the owner-musician and reflect his personality. At home, he spends a lot of time doing creative work. Therefore, changing the sensations in the interior is very important for him.
We suggested creating separate stories that unfold as you move from one part of the house to another. These stories are related to the movement of sunlight in the apartment. In the morning it illuminates the space of the bedroom, and in the evening its rare rays enter the living room and kitchen.
The movement of light we decided to beat using different color combinations inside the apartment. The interaction of color and light helped create a whole palette of impressions that vary depending on the time of day from room to room. To combine the diversity of subjects in one story is due to the work with the scale and rhythm of color spots.
In the bedroom, the blue “sky” adjoins the lighter, gray walls and peach slopes of the windows. In the living room, almost no sunlight, we used forest shades in it. We designed the bathroom with a total net of white ceramic tiles with dark seams, and the ceiling was painted in pink. Despite the wide spread of color zones, the space of an apartment is perceived as one.
Large and uniform color spots visually protrude or, conversely, go deep into the general gray background of the walls and the filler floor. Remains of paint decided to use to cover purchased wooden furniture, which was knocked out of the palette of the interior. Our choice – such brands as Hay, Normann Copenhagen, Ferm living, Ikea, Nemo lighting.
The apartment is located on the demolition of the house, which has a complex geometry of space: it is difficult to find a right angle or parallel wall. Align the space with color. We used the method of “color pockets” – individual zones, the shape of which is created by simultaneous painting of walls and ceiling.
We have painted the shape in a polygonal living room in a dark green color. As a result, we got the feeling of the right orthogonal space, to which the residual forms are attached. Such “pockets” change perceptions depending on which part of the room the observer is in.
“Scheme” is a group of young architects, designers and urbanists. Each project for “Scheme” is an experiment. We begin with a comprehensive analysis of the problem, formulate the idea of the project and proceed to search for an image through dialogue with the client, referring to the basics of the architectural language.
We design interiors and buildings, we are engaged in the improvement of the urban environment, we create art objects and installations. “
